We all face battles in life, and often during these struggles, we can feel utterly hopeless.
We cry out to God, questioning, 'God, why is this happening?'

I found in Joshua 7, a moment right after they had won a battle where the walls of Jericho came tumbling down. God had instructed the people not to take anything accursed, but one man named Achan disobeyed God. He stole, and as a result, they went into battle and suffered a crushing defeat. How could this happen? The first battle ended in victory, and the next was the complete opposite. One man's sin, one act of disobedience, had a profound impact on the entire community.
Today, many of us find ourselves living in defeat because of sin. There are families torn apart because of one individual struggling with addiction.
Sin keeps us bound, but through the cross, we find victory.
Jesus has conquered it all. Perhaps you can relate to this story today. Maybe you feel defeated, perhaps there's a family member trapped in sin, causing pain for the whole family, or maybe you're the one wrestling with challenges. But here's the good news: Our God is faithful. As we see in this scripture, the first battle was won because they obeyed God's commands. The moment disobedience crept in, everything crumbled.
The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.
Joshua 7:10 - 12
In the story of Achan, we see that even a seemingly small hidden sin can have far-reaching consequences. Achan's disobedience affected the entire community. I encourage each of you to examine your hearts and lives, addressing any hidden sins or areas of disobedience. Go to Jesus and seek His forgiveness to prevent a harmful ripple effect of sin in your life and your families. Despite the Israelites' defeat due to Achan's sin, God didn't abandon them. He offered them a second chance. We serve a God of mercy and second chances.
No matter the mistakes or failures of your past, you can find forgiveness and restoration in Him.
I encourage you to embrace God's grace and trust in His willingness to restore and guide you! He will not abandon you!
Despite facing challenges and setbacks, trusting God has been my anchor. Sometimes, the journey is tough, but the blessings of following God's plan are worth it. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, no matter how fierce the battle rages.
Remember, NOTHING is too difficult for our God! It's not over; you are not defeated!
Today, RISE UP, for God holds everything in His hands! He adores His daughters, so let's obey Him and allow Him to lead us through every battle. And know this: If you let Him, there is no battle that can overcome you.
 With Love and Prayers,
Jeri
